Based on a true story, norway.today is an existential romantic comedy about two lost souls searching for the meaning of life in death. In an internet chat room, Julie announced that she is going to kill herself, and she doesn’t want to do it alone. She wants a companion to join her in jumping off Pulpit Rock – a 2000 ft. cliff in Norway. August responds to her request, and they agree to meet. Once together, they experience a natural phenomenon that rattles their resolve and leaves them wondering if there is something worth living for. Dorothee Hammerstein, chairwoman of the Mühlheim Festival, called norway.today “a highly moral play about two likeable young people… a play that invites reflection and simultaneously entertains with unexpected developments.”


THALATTA! presented the US Premiere of the critically-acclaimed global sensation, norway.today in 2006. Since its premiere in late 2000 at the Düsseldorf Play House, norway.today has been staged over 200 times around the world and has been translated into 25 languages.  In 2001, Bauersima won the Audience Award for best playwright at the Mühlheim Theater Days Festival, and was named best new dramatist by Theater Heute. Critic Svenja Klaucke declared “Bauersima has caught the feelings of the web generation with precision.
